It is to heads on that Sony has 3 new jewels which have been revealed at Photokina. They are full frame image sensors named Alpha A99 interchangeable lens camera, the Handycam NEX-VG900 camcorder and Cyber-shot RX1. It is surprising that Sony has managed to adopt a large full frame image sensor which ranges around the size of 35 mm into the point-and-shoot camera. This camera costs around $2800.

RX1 boasts Carl Zeiss 35 mm f/2.0 lens. It is because of the charisma of the RX1 that people pay around three grand in spite of knowing that they can not change the lens. It is as good as that of pocketing something very large into a little space.

Both Alpha A99 and RX1 look similar. They have full frame image sensor. They also have similar features and controls. They also resemble in price tags. The only difference is that Alpha A99 comes without a lens. It needs A-mount lens before final shooting. Compared to Alpha A99, RX1 neither has an inbuilt viewfinder nor front control dial. But, in short, it can be said that RX1 is a mini Alpha A99 with fixed lens.
